with his unique mix of grooves, funk, jazz, soul and house while the live performance comes with a World Music vibe as Madagascan guitarist Modeste Hugues takes to the stage.
A joint initiative between Croydon Business Improvement District, Croydon Council and local music promoter the Big South, CROWD first hit Croydon’s streets in October 2016, turning St George’s Walk into a pop-up venue with bars and street food plus a stunning live show from the Hackney Colliery Band which played to a packed and enthusiastic audience.
Now returning with a run of three monthly events, CROWD is teaming up with The Lost Format Society to stage a series of takeovers at this year’s Rooftop Cinema site at Centrale Car Park, which is all kitted out to create a unique venue experience, ideal for catching the sundowner moment.
“We have been fans of what the Lost Format Team has been doing in Croydon over the past couple of years and we’ve secured a great line up for the next series of events” explains CROWD promoter Graeme Miall.
“Tying the two together, gives us a great platform for music fans to enjoy over the coming months and with the events timed to run in the early evening, they are intended to provide the perfect start to a great night out in the town centre, so watch out for news of special after-party events coming soon.”
All CROWD events will be free to attend although pre-event registration is recommended to guarantee entry. Full event details and links to register can be found here.
Further CROWD events are scheduled on June 23rd and July 21st from 5.00pm – 9.30pm. Watch this space for further details.
