Origin of Croydon’s Whitgift Foundation – all you need to know

Perception and Image
A fresh insight into the fascinating past of Croydon’s Whitgift Foundation has been unveiled today following the release of a new animation charting the charity’s 400+ years old history.

Founded in 1576 by Archbishop John Whitfgift, with the aim of providing education for the young and care for the elderly, the Foundation’s commitment to those principles has continued well into present day, providing education for over 3,000 students, almost half of whom it supports financially, as well as caring for over 100 residents and providing support for the borough’s carers.
