Croydon Town Centre Security Zone

The Croydon town centre Community Security Zone (CSZ) was established in March 2014, drawing together around 50 local business leaders, residents and partner organisations to improve safety in the area and make it more resistant to terrorism.

Led by Croydon Police Counter Terrorism Focus Desk (CTFD) with support from Croydon Council, the London Fire Brigade, Croydon BID and other agencies, the CSZ provides an integrated approach towards reducing the risk of terrorism by fostering an awareness of the implications that terrorism can have on the wider community and an appreciation of the benefits of working together to tackle the problem.

Businesses that join the CSZ, are provided with on-going advice and information on security, counter terrorism and crime prevention issues. They also benefit from access at events to a wide range of expertise from counter terrorism specialists who can advise on business related issues such as hostile reconnaissance and identifying suspect packages.

By becoming a CSZ member, businesses benefit from:

  • Monthly Counter Terrorism newsletters
  • Free training packages and presentations specifically designed to advise on  Counter Terrorism Security available for delivery within your business
  • Free workshops providing an insight into different aspects of counter terrorism and how it may affect you and your business
  • Quarterly CSZ meetings, providing updates and advice concerning Counter Terrorism and Security
  • An invitation to the annual Project Griffin training event.

Individuals and organisations interested in attending events or finding out more about the CSZ should contact the Croydon Counter Terrorism Security Desk: Croydon.CTFD@met.police.uk or call 0208 649 0217 or 07789 710213.
