General Renewal & Consultation FAQs

The Croydon BID Renewal is the process that allows Croydon Business Improvement District (BID) to continue supporting local businesses and the town centre for another five-year term (2027–2032).

Since a BID can only operate for a maximum of five years at a time, renewal requires a consultation with levy businesses and a vote by all eligible levy payers. The consultation gathers feedback on what’s worked, what could improve, and what priorities businesses want Croydon BID to focus on in the next term. If a majority of businesses vote “yes,” Croydon BID will continue delivering vital projects, services, and investment in the town centre.

Without a “yes” vote, all Croydon BID services and initiatives will end in March 2027, including around £5 million of investment over the next five years that supports safety, cleanliness, events, marketing, and business engagement across Croydon town centre.

It gives Croydon BID the chance to hear directly from businesses about what’s working, what could be improved, and what you want us to focus on over the next five years. Your feedback shapes the future of services, projects, and initiatives in Croydon town centre.

Businesses can take part in person through one-to-one surveys with the BID team, and an online survey. Our team will be visiting businesses across Croydon town centre from Friday 6th March 2026 to Friday 17th April 2026.

The Renewal Consultation 2026 will officially open on Friday 6th March 2026, with in-person visits starting the same week. An online version of the survey will also be available throughout the consultation period.

All feedback is analysed to create the Croydon BID Business Proposal 2027–2032. This plan will outline the projects, services, and priorities for the next five-year term. All responses are strictly private and confidential.

The Survey Process FAQs

All businesses within the Croydon BID boundary that are liable for the BID levy will be consulted.

Your feedback is summarised in the final analysis, but we may need basic identifying information to ensure the right businesses are represented and to confirm voting eligibility.

The survey will cover opinions on the impact of the previous term, current business challenges, and priorities for the future – such as safety, marketing, cleanliness, events, and investment in the town centre.

Please contact the Croydon BID team. Surveys will be delivered in person by the Croydon BID team and its representatives visiting businesses, or via email with a link to the online version.
