Centre Court Croydon 2026

Centre Court Croydon brought two weeks of live sport, family films, and delicious treats to East Croydon.

Running alongside The Wimbledon Championships from Monday 29 June to Sunday 12 July 2026, Centre Court Croydon, the BIG screen installation at Caithness Walk, East Croydon, provided workers, residents, and visitors with a welcoming outdoor space to watch the tennis, or simply relax and catch up with friends.

In partnership with London South Bank University (LSBU Croydon Campus), in 2026 Croydon BID brought free Wimbledon live screenings back to the town centre through Centre Court Croydon. The activation transformed an underused space at Caithness Walk, East Croydon, into an outdoor viewing destination complete with comfortable deckchairs and beanbags for visitors to relax and enjoy the action.

Local businesses Heavenly Desserts and Tao Cafe also joined the activation, serving up a tempting range of food and drink options. Visitors could enjoy a Wimbledon staple in strawberries and cream through to fresh coffees and pastries, enhancing the inviting and laid-back atmosphere.

Alongside the tennis, Croydon BID partnered with the David Lean Cinema to present three family-friendly film mornings. Over 300 visitors joined us to catch Disney favourites Encanto, Lilo & Stitch (2002), and Inside Out 2, with the screenings proving to be a popular addition to the event programme.

7,500 visitors across the fortnight, with 900 visits on the final day

I’m really happy to see a nice, free event in East Croydon. Everyone visiting the area was impressed by this little space, and it created a wonderful atmosphere with a mix of office workers relaxing during their breaks and families spending quality time together. I would love to see more initiatives like this, bringing positive news and helping to improve Croydon’s reputation.
