Croydon BID Cleansing Team: Q2 2025/26 Impact Report

Throughout the summer, the Croydon BID Cleansing Team worked to keep the town centre clean and welcoming, tackling graffiti, flyposters, grime, and maintaining street furniture and pavements.

During the quarter, the team removed 215 pieces of graffiti and 193 flyposters, cleaned 607 items of street furniture including bins and benches, and carried out over 15,000 sqm of pavement cleaning. They also supported 58 small businesses and 5 larger corporate sites, including a full deep clean of the High Street to support Croydon Council’s summer and autumn events programme.

The areas of focus for Q2 were George Street, High Street, Surrey Street, Church Street, and North End. These locations were prioritised to ensure that streets and businesses looked their best ahead of the summer holidays.

Special attention was given to Croydon High Street in preparation for major events, including the Open House Festival (16–17 August 2025) and Croydon Gladi Gladi (16–17 August 2025).

Of the 58 small businesses that received cleansing support, the team cleaned store frontages, signage, and the pavements immediately outside each venue, while also removing graffiti. Businesses benefiting from this service included well-known high-street names such as Nando’s, Pret a Manger, Caffé Nero, McDonald’s, Sainsbury’s, Primark, and Next.
