Croydon BID Cleansing Team: Q4 2024/25 Impact Report

As the new year began, the Croydon BID Cleansing Team continued to make a visible difference across the town centre, delivering another impactful quarter of work to support businesses and enhance public spaces.
Between January and March 2025, the team focused their efforts on tackling graffiti, removing fly posters, refreshing street furniture, and completing a significant volume of surface-level cleaning.

Street Furniture Refresh

In Q4, the team cleaned 534 items of street furniture, including bins, benches, signage, and other essential fixtures. These may seem like small details, but they contribute to a cleaner and more pleasant public realm.

Tackling Graffiti and Fly Posters

The team remained vigilant, removing 332 pieces of graffiti and 176 fly posters from walls, shopfronts, and other areas. Additionally, 174 grot spots – problem areas prone to recurring issues – were  addressed to restore cleanliness.

Support for Businesses

44 businesses received tailored cleaning services, helping to keep shopfronts pristine and ensuring a positive first impression for customers.

Pavement Cleaning

The cleansing team also delivered extensive pavement cleaning services, including:

  • 5,628 sqm of deep cleaning
  • 3,430 sqm of mid-level cleaning
  • 3,410 sqm of flush (rinse-only) cleaning

These services helped lift grime, remove gum, and refresh key walkways and pedestrian areas across Croydon town centre.

Looking Ahead

As spring approaches, the Croydon BID Cleansing Team will continue their work across key public spaces, ensuring the town centre remains in good condition for the busy months ahead.
