Croydon BID delivers safety sessions for local employees

Croydon Business Improvement District (BID), in collaboration with the Croydon Metropolitan Police (MPS), recently delivered dedicated safety sessions for employees at Mott MacDonald and the Home Office.
These sessions provided valuable updates, addressed concerns, and reinforced the ongoing efforts being made to improve safety in Croydon town centre.

On 5th February, Croydon BID and the Met Police met with approximately 50 employees at Mott MacDonald, followed by a second session on 12th February with around 25 Home Office employees.

The sessions were held upon request, reflecting a proactive approach to keeping employees informed about the wide range of initiatives in place to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour.

While some challenges may not always be visible, the sessions highlighted the significant work happening behind the scenes to enhance safety and security for businesses and the wider community.

Discussions covered key safety concerns in Croydon town centre, including:

  • The management of rough sleeping and support for vulnerable individuals
  • Youth violence and knife crime prevention efforts
  • The misuse of E-bikes and scooters and associated behaviours

By providing insight into these issues and outlining the measures in place to address them, the sessions helped to reassure staff, leaving them more informed and confident in the safety initiatives being carried out.

More sessions are planned as Croydon BID continues to support businesses and employees. If your organisation is a Croydon BID levy payer and would like to arrange a safety session, please get in touch at hello@croydonbid.com.
