Croydon BID Radio Link
The Croydon BID Radio Link scheme expanded in Q4, adding 13 new users, while maintaining a perfect 100% retention rate across all participants. This initiative allows real-time communication between businesses, the Metropolitan Police, and Croydon BID Street Rangers, ensuring quick responses to safety concerns.
To further improve the scheme’s effectiveness, Croydon BID completed an equipment review and a training update. The Croydon BID Street Rangers visited all businesses with a Radio Link handset to ensure active use of the radio equipment and to deliver refresher training on its proper use.
National BCRP Awareness Week
Croydon BID was proud to take an active role in the first-ever National BCRP Awareness Week (March 17-23, 2025), which focused on raising awareness of the Croydon Business Crime Reduction Partnership (CBCP).
Throughout the week, Croydon BID hosted two key intelligence forums with 48 attendees, covering police updates, known offenders, crime trends, and potential collaboration opportunities.
Additionally, Croydon BID Street Rangers, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police, conducted a weapons sweep across the town centre to detect and remove hidden weapons while deterring criminal activity through visible security measures.

Business Crime Survey 2025
To better understand the safety concerns of businesses in Croydon town centre, Croydon BID launched the Croydon BID Business Crime Survey 2025. The survey invites businesses to share their experiences with crime, provide feedback on police engagement, and highlight areas for improvement. The anonymous responses will guide future crime prevention strategies and ensure that businesses receive targeted support.

Collaborative Task Force Work
Croydon BID has been working closely with local authorities to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) and address concerns raised by local businesses. This has included supporting individuals using sleep sites and making targeted improvements to the public realm, such as repairing or removing problematic street furniture. The Task Force also played a key role in introducing security zones at ATM locations along North End to help reduce criminal activity and improve safety.
Operation Mooka
Operation Mooka, a key initiative funded by Croydon BID, has continued to be a success in Q4. Engaging 257 businesses across the town centre, this initiative connects businesses directly with law enforcement, ensuring regular engagement and proactive measures to enhance safety.
Through strategic police patrols, Operation Mooka focuses on reducing shoplifting and protecting local businesses from retail crime, creating a safer environment for all.
