Croydon BID Street Rangers: Q1 2025/26 Impact Report

From April to June 2025, the Croydon BID Street Ranger team continued to play a key role in supporting the town centre – maintaining a visible presence, assisting businesses, and offering welfare support to vulnerable individuals.

Over the course of the quarter, the team logged 1,656 patrol hours, covering more than 2,500km on foot – the equivalent of nearly 3.4 million steps. Their daily patrols ensured that Croydon town centre remained a safer, more welcoming space for everyone.

Key Contributions:

  • 4,256 business visits were carried out, including both formal check-ins and informal drop-ins, helping maintain strong relationships with local businesses.
  • The team provided direct support in 187 incidents, including theft recovery, conflict resolution, banning notice enforcement, and first aid response.
  • Street Rangers contributed to 17 arrests, working closely with the Town Centre Metropolitan Police Team and other partners to manage live incidents.
  • Their efforts led to the recovery of £6,000 in stolen goods, reducing losses for local retailers.
  • 259 individuals on the street were engaged and supported, with signposting to appropriate services where needed.

As we move into Q2, the Street Ranger team remains committed to adapting to the needs of the town centre – supporting local businesses, strengthening community safety, and ensuring Croydon remains a place people feel confident to visit and work in.
