Operation Redwood
Operation Redwood continues to deliver results in tackling weapons offences and drug-related crime. In February:
- Officers conducted 31 stop-and-searches, leading to five arrests, including three for Possession with Intent to Supply.
- A weapon was seized, removing another dangerous weapon from the streets.
- A significant arrest took place on George Street, where a male was detained following a foot chase, and arrested for Possession with Intent to Supply Class B drugs.
- Officers also enforced multiple Community Protection Notices (CPNs), arresting a persistent shoplifter for breaching their CPN and continuing to monitor individuals causing crime and antisocial behaviour.
Taking Action Against Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)
A new VAWG Proactive Officer has been appointed to Croydon MPS. Anyone who has been a victim of crime is encouraged to report it by calling 101 or using the online reporting tools below:

Live Facial Recognition (LFR)
LFR was deployed in Croydon town centre, leading to 8 arrests. Offences included ABH, threats to kill, breach of tag, and robbery. These deployments will continue, with a focus on apprehending high-harm offenders.
E-Bike and E-Scooter Enforcement
Enforcement against illegal e-bikes and e-scooters remains a priority. In February:
- 29 vehicle stops were conducted
- 22 tickets were issued for various offences
- 2 arrests were made for immigration offences
The challenges in Croydon’s town centre remain, but through targeted policing efforts and partnership work, progress is being made to disrupt criminal activity and enhance safety for businesses, residents, and visitors.
