Key service changes:
- Saturday 15th February – Sunday 16th February: No trams between Reeves Corner and Sandilands, including the town centre loop. Services to Elmers End will also be suspended.
- Sunday 16th February – Sunday 23rd February: No trams between Reeves Corner and East Croydon. Additionally, there will be no service between Arena and Elmers End.
Alternative travel options:
Replacement bus services will be available for affected stops, though passengers should allow extra time for their journeys. Additional travel options include:
- To Elmers End: The 289 bus service will run every 12 to 15 minutes, connecting to Addiscombe and West Croydon.
- Alternative routes: Bus routes 64, 119, 130, 194, 198, 464, and 466 will continue to operate but may be busier than usual.
- Birkbeck tram stop is a short walk from Elmers End, offering an alternative tram connection.
Additional maintenance work:
Alongside track replacement, TfL will carry out highway repairs, drainage improvements, and platform upgrades at various tram stops. Completing these essential works simultaneously aims to reduce future service disruptions.
Planning ahead:
For up-to-date travel information, passengers are advised to check notices at local tram stops or visit the TfL website. The TfL Hopper fare remains in place, allowing unlimited bus and tram journeys within an hour for just £1.75.
Despite the temporary changes, tram services across the rest of the network will continue to operate as normal, and all roads in the area will remain open to traffic.
