Croydon’s creative community on display as Croydonist turns ten

This May, the Croydonist marks a decade of highlighting Croydon’s vibrant, quirky, and diverse artistic community with Concrete Creativity – Ten Years of Croydonist Artists.

Croydon BID is proud to sponsor this special anniversary exhibition celebrating ten years of Croydonist’s dedication to championing the borough’s creative and cultural scene.

The free exhibition runs from 5 – 29 May 2026 at the Click Clock Art Gallery, Clocktower Café, in the heart of Croydon’s cultural quarter (open Monday to Saturday, 9am – 4pm*, closed Monday 25 May).

Over the past decade, Croydonist social media headers have acted as a bi-monthly online gallery, featuring more than 60 local artists. This exhibition brings together 35 of these artists, with 16 also presenting a recent piece alongside their original header artwork, offering a glimpse into how their practice has evolved.

The exhibition spans figurative painting, illustration, photography, and mixed media, showcasing work by:
James Oliver, Lis Watkins, Matt Bannister, Adam Halliday, Kate Marsden, Bareface, Tina Crawford, Kay Lovesah, Dimitra Rizou, Ruth Joyce, Christopher Hope-Fitch, Ana Maria Lima Dimitrijevic, Skye Baker, Jason Chow, Miguel Sopena, Helena Vaughan, Anudarani, Cordelia Parker, Hannah Kirkland, Beatrix Finch, Jonny Kemp, Melanie Russell, Lauren Pinnock, Divya Sharma, Becci Kenning, Zoe Akroyd Parker, Mirri Rowland, Autumn Ng Fong Tiao, Thomas Oldfield, Erika Gomez, Ciara Flood, Georgina Nicolaou, Chantelle D’Souza, Diana Phiri-Witty, and Emily Evans.

Croydon’s artistic and cultural heritage is rich and continues to inspire us. The Croydonist’s ten-year anniversary exhibition is a brilliant celebration of the talent that shapes our town, and it’s exactly the kind of local creativity we champion through initiatives like our Creative Croydon lamppost campaign, which brings the work of local artists directly into the streets. Supporting events like this is part of our ongoing commitment to nurturing and promoting Croydon’s vibrant arts scene.
Matt Sims, Chief Executive of Croydon BID

As a voluntary organisation, the Croydonist is hugely grateful for the support of Croydon BID, Ace 360 Communication, and 31% Wool in helping make the exhibition possible.

Come along and experience the creativity that makes Croydon’s cultural scene so unique!
