Over 12,000 people attended last year’s festival and its organisers, the South Croydon Business Association, have ambitious plans to make this year’s alfresco dining event even bigger and better.
In addition to the smorgasbord of food and drink stalls offering delicious hot and cold international cuisine, there will be three stages featuring every genre of music from folk and rock to jazz and blues, plus street performers and face painting and games for children.
South End will be pedestrianised and closed to traffic between Coombe Road and Aberdeen Road to accommodate the event which runs from noon until 7.00pm.
“The South Croydon Business Association is extremely proud to be able to put on this sixth annual Croydon Food and Music Festival,” said SCBA spokesman Peter Bagatti.
“It’s wonderful to see the community and businesses come together to stage what is undoubtedly Croydon’s biggest food festival.
“Last year a record 12,000 people came along to enjoy a really fabulous day out and we hope even more join us on June 25th.”
The festival has already attracted a host of sponsors including Bagattis Restaurant, Scream Lounge, London Borough of Croydon, The Croydon Partnership, Quantum Homes, Keg and Grill and Bryden Johnson and there are still opportunities to support and participate in the event.
