Safer Streets
A new Town Centre Community Security Zone is to be launched by the Metropolitan Police on Wednesday, March 5th.

The first of its type in Croydon, the Town Centre Community Security Zones aims to draw together representatives from the local community - business leaders, residents and partner organisations alike - to improve safety in the area and make it more resilient to crime and disorder, including terrorism.

As well as providing businesses with advice and information on security, counter terrorism and crime prevention issues, the event will include presentations from a number of specialists who will share their expertise on different aspects of counter terrorism, helping to highlight why the issue is relevant to individuals and businesses.

  • 'What is a terrorist' - presentation from S015 Counter Terrrorism Command
  • 'Suspect packages and how to recognise them' - presentation from the Chemical, Biolgical, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Team
  • Light lunch and networking opportunity

At the launch, there will also be the opportunity to become a CSZ member, providing access to:

  • FREE training packages and presentations specifically designed to advise businesses about counter terrorism security
  • FREE workshops providing an insight into different aspects of counter terrorism and how it may affect you and your business
  • Bi-annual CSZ meetings, providing updates and advice concerning counter terrorism and security
