Exciting revitalisation plans for Croydon’s Allders building

The iconic department store, which has remained behind hoardings since its closure in 2013, is set to receive a fresh makeover in 2025.
Croydon Council has announced a new chapter for the vacant Allders building with plans to refurbish and modify the ground floor with dynamic pop-up retail spaces.

The proposal, submitted by the building’s owners, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW), includes transforming the space five retail units and two food and beverage outlets.

The proposed development is set to bring a fresh, dynamic atmosphere back to the High Street, restoring a sense of place and pride to our community. We hope to see this transformation begin early next year, providing a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to thrive.

The plans will enhance the building’s ground floor, offering new spaces for shopping and dining.  For more details and to view the planning application, visit Croydon Council’s public access site
