New shops, cafés & experiences to explore in Croydon town centre this spring
If you haven’t had a wander around Croydon town centre recently, now’s the time.
Croydon has quietly (and not so quietly) welcomed a wave of new openings in 2026, from soulful community spaces to adrenaline-fuelled family fun and some seriously good coffee stops.
Here’s what’s new, and why they’re worth a visit:
The Village Table – coffee, community and Sunday soul
Overlooking Queen’s Gardens, The Village Table has arrived with exactly the kind of energy the space deserves.
It’s part coffee lounge, part community living room – the sort of place you pop into for “just one coffee” and end up staying a while. Expect quality hot drinks, light bites, and plenty of comfy corners to settle into.
There’s also a small stage that’s already building a name for itself, with Sunday Night Soul bringing smooth live R&B, soul, jazz, neo soul, and hip-hop to the heart of Croydon. It feels relaxed, welcoming, and genuinely community-led.

Grumpy Goose Café – your new East Croydon coffee run
If you already rate the Coulsdon original, you’ll know Grumpy Goose doesn’t do average. And now East Croydon gets a slice of the action.
This is grab-and-go without cutting corners. The coffee packs a punch, the sandwiches are generously stacked, and the pastry counter is impossible to ignore.
It also gets points for inclusivity done right – veggie, vegan, and gluten-free options that feel like they belong on the menu, not added as an afterthought.
Whether you’re dashing for a train, grabbing lunch between meetings, or fuelling up before a shop, it fits seamlessly into the Croydon commuter rhythm.

Soul-Full – a space built around purpose
On George Street, something a little different has opened its doors.
Soul-Full, created by local organisation Soul Purpose 360, isn’t just another commercial unit, it’s been designed as a space for connection, creativity, and wellbeing. Spread across four floors, it brings together a wellness hub and co-working area with room to host ideas, events, and collaboration.
Caribuena Café has recently opened on the ground floor, bringing a vibrant fusion of Mexican and Caribbean flavours to the offer. It’s the latest venture from Caribuena founder Aminah Black, whose social enterprise focuses on nutritional education and tackling food insecurity through community-led initiatives.

Clip 'n Climb Croydon – high-energy family fun
Clip ‘n Climb Croydon is already proving itself as a go-to spot for families.
Bright, colourful climbing challenges mix with the Play Den soft play zone, making it perfect for kids of all ages, and adults who don’t mind a bit of friendly competition.
Since opening, the centre has rolled out a packed timetable, including climbing sessions, Mini Mountaineering, SEND sessions, and soft play running Tuesday to Sunday.
It’s energetic, inclusive, and the kind of activity that brings a fresh buzz to the town centre.

Tooth Club – a fresh take on dental care
A trip to the dentist might not top your list of “exciting new openings”- but this one is worth knowing about.
Tooth Club has brought its modern, design-led approach to North End, and it feels noticeably different from the traditional dental set-up. The space leans more boutique than clinical, with sleek interiors, up-to-date technology and a focus on making patients feel at ease from the moment they walk in.
Alongside essential treatments, they offer cosmetic options and free consultations so you can meet the team and talk things through without pressure. It’s the kind of place that makes going to the dentist feel… well, a little less like going to the dentist.
