London Square measures up a giant giraffe for Croydon Stands Tall

Award-winning residential developer London Square is supporting Croydon Stands Tall, a large-scale public art event taking to the streets of Croydon in the autumn – with a herd of 30 giant giraffe sculptures popping up in a trail across the town centre.

London Square is sponsoring one of the thirty eight-foot-tall giraffes, which will be hand decorated by an artist, as part of the celebration of Croydon’s extraordinary heritage and cultural diversity.

Their sponsorship, also marks the progress at London Square Croydon, the new destination transforming the area around West Croydon station with stylish new homes, both private for sale and affordable, plus an attractive public square, with cafes and shops at street level.

The 10-week trail is part of the London Borough of Culture activities, led by Croydon Business Improvement District in partnership with Wild in Art and Presenting Partner Superdrug, with funds set to be raised for homelessness charity Crisis and the Croydon Skylight centre in an auction.

Croydon has such extraordinary creative and cultural energy, and we are delighted to be supporting Croydon Stands Tall as part of our commitment to the town and local people.

London Square Croydon is a £90m scheme playing an important role in the future growth of Croydon, delivering 240 new homes in two new landmark brick buildings.

The scheme will feature 947 m2 of commercial space, with retail and offices at street level and the new piazza opening up views to the listed St Michael and All Angels Church. Pedestrian links will also be created to the station and new shopping centre. The development is forming a major part of the West Croydon Masterplan, creating a new gateway to the town centre.
