Treat Out Croydon is now launching a new phase in its attempt to entice people with a food and drink festival in September.
Working with restaurants in the centre, the scheme is inspired by the government’s Eat Out to Help Out campaign – but instead of a £10 discount, establishments will be offering £10 meal deals for those dining in.
Those signed up to the campaign include Matthew’s Yard, Crown & Pepper, Basil & Grape, Zabardast, Dog & Bull, Mr Fox, Café Giardino and many more.
In May, Croydon BID launched Treat Out Croydon with a new temporary outdoor seating space in the High Street to tempt consumers back and to support hospitality. Supported by a vibrant digital marketing campaign, Treat Out Croydon set about boosting confidence with consumers with a wide range of playful messages to help rebuild the hospitality sector. This new initiative has already proved popular with many customers making the most of the sun and outdoor dining as restrictions ease allowing up to 30 people to meet outside.
Matthew Sims, Chief Executive of Croydon BID, said: “Many of our favourite bars, restaurants and cafes have suffered enormously over the past year. As we tentatively look to the future, we are asking people to breakaway from the takeaway, to enjoy the many spaces and places we have available and support our diverse range of venues as we look to recover.
“We are absolutely delighted with the response so far and the new outdoor seating area on the High Street offers something of real value to the town centre as we all look to reconnect with one another. Come down, check it out and enjoy the weather, food and drink on offer.”
