Safer Streets
Andrew Bauer, Whitgift Shopping Centre Director, has been appointed the new Chairman of the Board of Management of the Croydon Business Crime Reduction Partnership (CBCP).

He takes over the role from Nick Baker who has been CBCP Chairman since January 2014.

The CBCP, which is wholly funded and managed by the Croydon Business Improvement District (BID), is an award-winning, intelligence-sharing partnership between Croydon BID, the Metropolitan Police and Croydon Council. It aims specifically to deter and cut business crime and anti-social behavior and to deal head-on with repeat offenders by banning them from Croydon town centre.

“It is in the interests of anyone working, living and doing business here, to ensure that our town centre is widely regarded as a safe and welcoming place to be,” said Mr Bauer.

“In that regard, the Croydon town centre business community has a vital role to play in helping to deter, report and cut crime  in Croydon, working in close collaboration with the Metropolitan Police and various agencies,” he added.

Mr Bauer previously served as CBCP Chairman between April 2009 and December 2013.

He will take up his new role on April 1st, 2018 and will work closely with Neil Chandler, the newly-appointed Chairman of Croydon BID.
