Bringing the spirit of New Orleans to Croydon, Popeyes will be rolling out the orange carpet on launch day. They’ll have a Mardi Gras-style band playing The Brass Funkeys as the first customers come through the doors, and the first three customers will receive free chicken sandwiches for a year. On top of that, the first 25 customers will get a free chicken sandwich and official merchandise. At recent openings, customers have queued for up to 18 and a half hours to savour the chicken. Earlier this week, the opening of the Barrhead location saw customers queuing from 4.30pm the day before – Popeyes anticipates similar scenes in Croydon.
