About Children’s Hospital Pyjamas
The charity was founded in November 2010 by a mother whose daughter was an in-patient at a local hospital. After witnessing the generosity of another family who donated a scooter to her child, she felt inspired to give back. Initially, she collected brand-new toys from friends and family to donate to her local hospital. However, after three years of toy donations, the decision was made to switch to pyjamas—an item that provides both comfort and practicality to children during their hospital stay.
Over the years, the appeal has grown from a small local effort to a nationwide initiative. In celebration of its tenth collection, Children’s Hospital Pyjamas registered as an official charity (registration number 1185739), allowing it to continue expanding its mission of bringing joy and comfort to children in need.
How You Can Get Involved
Rawlings Opticians & Hearing Care has now become a collection point for the Children’s Hospital Pyjamas appeal. They are calling on the Croydon community to drop off donations of brand-new children’s pyjamas, which will be distributed to young patients in hospitals and refuges this Christmas. The simple act of donating pyjamas can bring warmth and comfort to a child facing a difficult holiday season.
