Event Schedule:
- 12:15 PM: A parade featuring military servicemen, veterans, and community groups will commence at Marks and Spencer’s on North End, proceeding to High Street and then onto Katharine Street.
- 12:30 PM: A wreath-laying ceremony will take place at the War Memorial on Katharine Street.
- 1:00 PM: The event will conclude.
Important Arrangements: To facilitate the event, the following measures will be implemented in Croydon Town Centre on Remembrance Sunday:
- Early Bin Collection: Bins on North End will be emptied early in the morning on 10 November.
- Commercial Waste: We kindly ask that you refrain from putting out any additional commercial waste along the parade route before the event.
- Outdoor Signage: If you usually have signs or furniture outside your premises along the parade route, please ensure they do not obstruct the path.
Road Closures: To ensure safety during the event, the following road closures will be in effect:
- From 10:30 AM: Scarbrook Road/High Street to Katharine Street/Fell Road will be closed.
- From 12:00 PM: The closure will extend to the rest of Katharine Street to Park Lane, as well as St Georges Walk, Fell Road, and Mint Walk.
- Expected Clearance: Road closures are anticipated to be lifted around 1:30 PM once the area is clear. No traffic will be permitted to access High Street from Katharine Street during the closures, and parking bays will be suspended.
On Monday, 11 November 2024, a brief ceremony will be held at 11 AM on Katharine Street to mark Armistice Day. During this time, Katharine Street will be closed between High Street and Fell Road from 10:50 AM to 11:20 AM.
