Croydon’s Best Bar None scheme aims to achieve just that by promoting responsible drinking and cutting alcohol-fuelled crime and disorder.
Launched in 2002, the nationally-acclaimed scheme was the first of its kind in London and recognises and rewards the efforts of those licensees who put the safety and well-being of their staff and customers first.
Croydon BID and the Croydon Business Crime Reduction Partnership (CBCP) have been proud sponsors of the Best Bar None Accreditation scheme, which is co-ordinated by the BID and Croydon Council with support from the Metropolitan Police. Plans for the 2017-18 awards are currenly under way.
All pubs and nightclubs from across Croydon are invited to apply for Best Bar None status, following which their premises are subject to detailed inspection by the Council’s licensing team to check that they are trading within the letter of the law and there are key procedures and practices in place that put the safety and comfort of staff and customers first.
Accredited premises are automatically entered into the prestigious annual Best Bar None Awards which recognise and reward responsible licensed premises management.
