Night-time Rangers

To support our night-time economy and hospitality businesses and all those that use our town centre, Croydon BID launched a team of Night-Time Rangers in October 2021.

Croydon BID is determined to improve the level of visibility across the town centre at night to improve the feeling of safety across our town centre for those that live, work, visit and play in Croydon.

The team of two night rangers provide a reassuring visible presence across the town centre as part of their patrols, offering information, advice, guidance as we look to improve consumer confidence for our night time economy.

Our night rangers are SIA qualified security staff who have been trained to diffuse potentially difficult situations. The team work five days per week from Wednesday to Sunday, 6.00pm - 11.00pm.

In working with our night time economy, we have put in place individual agreements with each venue allowing our night time rangers to provide on site support should a venue require additional security presence.

Our night rangers have additional training in conflict management, counter-terrorism and First Aid. In full uniform, our night rangers work in pairs at all times, wearing appropriate safety clothing, complete with body cameras and a Croydon BID Radio Link, engaging with businesses from across the night time economy.

Our night time rangers currently work with over 20 venues across the town centre, patrol many of our car parks and offer additional support with major events such as Euro 2020.

The night time rangers are committed to suppporting Croydon BID levy payers in the night time and hospitality sector.

If you would like to become apart of the Croydon BID night time ranger initiative, please contact the Croydon BID team.
