A Public Talk & Workshop with Racheal Nanyonjo, Co-Creator / director of "Recognition" Hosted by Talawa’s New Work Producer David Gilbert.
This event will kick off with a talk featuring Racheal Nanyonjo Co-Creator and Director of Recognition and hosted by Talawa’s New Work Producer David Gilbert.
In their conversation they will address the process of creating the play Recognition, in which the story of Samuel Taylor Coleridge features, bringing to light the rich legacy of Black Classical music in Britain.
The talk will also explore creative ways to honour and remember those who have gone before us, by drawing upon the resources of the archive to celebrate the legacies of Black Artistry.
Attendees will be then invited to take part in a theatre workshop facilitated by Racheal.
This 2 hour practical workshop will explore a range of theatrical games, devising tools and movement based storytelling. It will use the question of How to Start? as a jumping off point when thinking about an idea and where to begin in making new work.
