About the Croydon Business Crime Reduction Partnership (CBCP):

What is the CBCP?

The Croydon Business Crime Reduction Partnership (CBCP) is a collaborative network aimed at reducing business-related crime across Croydon town centre. It brings together local businesses, the Metropolitan Police, British Transport Police, Croydon Council, and other key agencies to tackle crime and improve safety.

Who are its members?

CBCP has 188 members, including security guards, store managers, facility managers, and other roles from industries such as retail, banking, hospitality, and commercial businesses.

What does the CBCP do?

The CBCP facilitates intelligence sharing and reporting of incidents—often those not reported to the police. This helps build a clearer picture of crime patterns and prolific offenders in the area. The partnership aims to reduce crime and help businesses prepare for potential threats.

How does the CBCP help its members?

  • Access to information on prolific offenders, crime trends, and best practices.
  • Crime prevention training in collaboration with the police to help businesses safeguard against crime.
  • Monthly Business Intelligence Forums held on the third Thursday of each month (10-11am) at the old vaccine centre in Centrale. These forums are a chance to hear updates from the Town Centre Police Inspector, discuss recent police operations, report concerns and share information on prolific offenders, and network with other members, including Croydon Council officers.

Additional CBCP initiatives:

  • The CBCP helps coordinate proactive operations and crime prevention activities throughout the year, in partnership with the police and other local agencies.
  • CBCP runs exclusion schemes through BusinessWatch, PubWatch, and BettingWatch, allowing businesses to ban persistent offenders from their premises.

Key benefits of being a CBCP member:

  • Enhanced security and crime reduction efforts across Croydon town centre.
  • A united approach to tackling crime, with the backing of police and other partners.
  • Regular updates, training, and collaborative problem-solving opportunities.
